NEACAC Fall College Fair Registration

 

Registration for the NEACAC Fall College Fairs will open on June 12, 2017! Early-bird registration rates will be offered through July 9, 2017 and registration will close on August 28, 2017. Once registration is open, you can register online here: http://www.neacac.org/2017-fall-fair-schedule(you will need your membership login to register). Students In Admissions Forum (SIAF)

The Students in Admissions Forum (SIAF) is a one day workshop for students who work or volunteer in admissions (tour guides, overnight hosts, tele-counselors, etc.) AND their admission office supervisors. This program provides an opportunity to learn what other institutions are doing and share your own ideas.

The 2017 Students in Admissions Forum will be held on Sunday, September 17th at Fitchburg State University in Fitchburg, MA from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Registration will be available in late May.

 Reach Higher

Massachusetts Convening 

The Reach Higher Massachusetts Convening will take place at Framingham State University, on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The title for the Convening is Reaching Higher in Massachusetts: Exploring College Transition, Persistence and Retention.

 This state convening is part of former First Lady Michelle Obama’s Reach Higher initiative, a national program that was launched in 2014 to ensure more students graduate from high school and continue on to earn some sort of additional certificate, degree or training after graduating from high school. Although the Obama’s have left the Oval Office, this important work continues!

NACAC Imagine Fund

Unfortunately, a 5K road race will not be offered during Boston's National Conference.  The road race raises a significant amount of money for NACAC's Imagine Fund.  We are collecting donations for the Imagine Fund here:  https://neacac.memberclicks.net/nacac-boston-2017. Anyone who donates will receive a signature Boston NACAC 2017 conference wristband.  Help NEACAC give the Imagine Fund a strong boost!

 

Counselors’ Preview Day

NACAC offers nonmember, local Boston counselors  a reduced registration of $50 for the Friday conference events. In addition, NEACAC has offered to reimburse the $50 fee for a limited number of qualifying registrants. Pre-Conference Workshop: Fundamentals of Recruiting and Counseling International Students

This professional development opportunity gives high school counselors, independent educational consultants, and US college and university admission officers the foundational skills and knowledge to more effectively counsel, advise, and recruit international studentswho wish to pursue undergraduate study in the United States—and enables them to enhance their professional network in support of these students.

Topics include testing, financial aid, credential evaluation, outreach and communication strategies, and immigration basics. The workshop will take place September 13-14 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center. Click here for more information.
