NACAC Boston 2017 Updates

NACAC Boston 2017 is finally here! In just over a week, we will welcome friends and colleagues (over 6,000 as of mid-August) to Boston for what promises to be an outstanding time for networking, learning and taking in all of the great experiences our city has to offer. The Local Advisory Committee (LAC) has been busy with our National counterparts finalizing plans and details and we are excited to be able to put a New England touch on NACAC’s annual conference.  We can’t thank our committee enough for all the hard work they’ve put into making this conference a success. Keep an eye out for our team in and around the convention center, we’ll be sporting NACAC 2017 shirts and vests. And as always, if you have any questions or want to jump in and volunteer, we’d love to have you join us in showing our NEACAC volunteer spirit!

COLLEGE TOURS

It’s not too late to register- there are tours that still have room and many great opportunities to see campuses all over New England.  Check here for more details.

Counselor Preview Day:

Please keep an eye out for our local counselors who will be attending the conference on Friday. The Jack Kent Cook Foundation will sponsor a breakfast program with guest speakers including our own Bob Bardwell and then participants will then have the rest of the day to go to conference sessions and attend both the Access College Fair and the Counselor College Fair.

Hospitality:

Need help finding a local place to grab lunch? How about that Top Ten list you’ll find in the Conference book? Ever wonder who’s helping tweet out all the good things that are happening at the conference? This high-spirited team has been working behind the scenes to find ways to make sure our attendees have a wonderful time in Boston.

Logistical Arrangements:

Calling all scanners (no tech experience needed)! This sub-committee is eagerly awaiting the thousands of attendees to Boston where they will be able to attend numerous educational sessions.  Our team of volunteers is excited to see all of you and we welcome any free time that you might have to volunteer to scan at sessions.

Registration:

Looking for an opportunity to practice your best Boston accent as you welcome attendees to the conference? How about being stationed in the best place to see and be seen by everyone? Volunteer to work the Registration area (Reg as it’s known behind the scenes) and you’ll enjoy meeting and greeting thousands of folks as they arrive at the Convention Center. Registration opens Tuesday the 9/12 at 1:00 pm and runs right through Saturday until noon.

Special Events:

Be sure to attend the Opening Reception (Thurs night) for a “taste of Boston” and a photo-op with a local favorite attraction (we won’t give it away- you’ll have to show up to see!)  On Saturday night, be sure to make plans to attend NACAC’s biggest party, the Conference Social to be held at the House of Blues in the Fenway area. Live Music, karaoke and plenty of great food and drink for all. You won’t want to miss it!

We are so grateful for the outpouring of support from all of our NEACAC members. We truly appreciate your willingness to volunteer your time and we look forward to seeing you all throughout the conference!

See you soon!
