Becoming a Member

Founded in 1966, the New England Association for College Admission Counseling (NEACAC) is one of the largest of 23 state and regional affiliates of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC).  NEACAC is the premier New England organization for counselors who assist students and their families in making the transition from high school to college. How to Join

Membership in NEACAC is open to institutions, organizations, and individuals who are engaged in work related to assisting students in the transition from secondary school to postsecondary studies. 

Organization and Primary Membership

1. If you are an employee of a college/university or secondary school with an active primary member, please contact the primary member or [email protected] to be added to the membership. If you are unsure of your institution's status please contact [email protected].

2. If you will be the first member of your institution to join NEACAC, please use the appropriate form below to start a new primary membership.  If you are unsure of your institution's status please contact [email protected] before applying for a new membership. 

3. As a primary member of your institution, you will also be able to register new additional members. Only primary members may add new members.

4. Please note that your membership will be inactive until our admin team can confirm your institution's primary member status.

Membership Categories

Fees & Voting rights

NEACAC offers a variety of membership categories that meet the needs of individuals and organizations. Please see the descriptions below and click on the appropriate link to join and learn about fee structures and specific benefits. INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Collegiate- inside New England (non-profit) (voting)

     o $50 including primary member; $5 per additional member
     o $200 for university systems including primary member; $5 per additional member


Collegiate/Associate- outside New England (non-profit) (non-voting)

     o $60 including primary member; $5 per additional member
 

Regional Representative

• Regional Representatives (working in NE; college is outside of NE) (voting)
     o $50 per member – individual category 

• Regional Representatives (college is in NE; representative works outside) (non-voting)
     o $70 per member


Secondary School- inside New England

• Primary and Secondary Schools (For & Non-profit) (voting)
     o $25 for unlimited staff
     o $100 for school districts, for unlimited staff


Secondary School/Associate- outside New England (non-voting)

• Associate Primary and Secondary Schools
     o $30 for unlimited staff

 

Transfer Counselor- inside New England (working at two year college) (voting)

     o $15 per member

 

Military Agency (non-voting)

     o $60 including primary member; $10 per additional member 


INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP REQUIRING APPROVAL FROM NEACAC

Collegiate/Affiliate- For Profit (non-voting)

     o $100 including primary member; $25 per additional member


Gap Year Program (non-voting)

     o $60 including primary member; $10 per additional member


Organizations & Agencies in New England (voting)

     o $60 including primary member; $5 per additional member


Organizations & Agencies outside New England (non-voting)

     o $70 including primary member; $5 per additional member


Vendor (non-voting)

     o $100 including primary member; $25 per additional member


 INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

Graduate Student (non-voting)

     o $10 per member

Retired member (voting)

     o $15 per member

 


INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP REQUIRING APPROVAL FROM NEACAC

Counselor Educator (non-voting)

     o $25 per member


Independent Counselor - outside New England (non-voting)

     o $70 per member


Independent Counselor - inside New England (voting)

     o $60 per member


Non-Affiliated Professional  (Former Admission or College Counseling Professionals; recently unemployed) (voting)

     o $15.00 per individual
