Students in Admissions Forum

The 2021 Students in Admissions Forum (SIAF) is a series of workshops for students who work or volunteer in admissions (tour guides, overnight hosts, tele-counselors, etc.) AND their admission office supervisors. This program provides an opportunity to learn what other institutions are doing and to share your own ideas.


Dates & Times

The 2021 Students in Admissions Forum will be held virtually on Thursday, September 30th and Wednesday, October 6th from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Each evening will feature different sessions and include the opportunity to connect with peers and colleagues.  

Registration costs $20 per person and includes access to both events.

The topics for Thursday, September 30 include: 

Mentorship Program & Supporting New Student Ambassadors 
Presented by: Keara Jordan, Class of 2022, Stonehill College. 

Join us for a conversation about how to support new student ambassadors. We’ll discuss how the Lux et Spes Society student ambassador program at Stonehill College utilizes a mentorship program and hope to hear from you in this discussion based session! 

More Than Just Tour Guides: A Deep Dive into the Fitchburg State Tour Guide Program
Presented by: Scott Fournier, Assistant Director of Admission, Fitchburg State University
Join Scott as he explores the tour guide program at Fitchburg State. As you know there are many other roles tour guides play other than just giving tours. He’ll go over leadership and mentor roles in the program; other duties tours guides do; as well as scheduling and training.

From Student Leader to Admission Superstar
Presented by Amy Chung, Senior Assistant Director, Boston College & Danielle Walsh, Assistant Director, Clark University
Hear from admission professionals about their path to working in admission. We'll share resources and advice for preparing to be a strong candidate for entry level admission positions. This discussion based session will allow plenty of opportunities for Q&A!
