Welcome!

The New England Association for College Admission Counseling is the number one resource in New England for college admissions professionals. NEACAC fulfills its mission by developing and providing services, programs, and opportunities for members so they can serve and assist students in their transition from secondary to post-secondary education.

We aim to lead in shaping the college counseling, admission and enrollment profession by:

  • Developing ethical and social responsibility within the profession through the establishment and maintenance of high professional standards;
  • Supporting and encouraging collaborative relationships and providing professional development opportunities for all members;
  • Advocating for policies that impact the profession at the state, regional and national level; and
  • Fostering development of equal opportunities for, and access to, post secondary education for all students, utilizing the collective influence and knowledge of the members.

President's Message

Kathy

Dear Colleagues and Members,

It’s a pleasure to welcome you to the NEACAC website. If you are a first-time visitor to our site, welcome!  Please take a close look at the work we are doing as an active and wonderfully robust association. For those of you who are returning, welcome back and thank you for your continued support and tireless work in the profession. We are excited and grateful for the growth that has continued. We are 3700+  members strong and the commitment our members continue to show toward supporting students, families and our fellow professionals is so encouraging.  As I step into the role of President, I feel a great sense of pride in our past accomplishments and excitement for the bright future we have moving forward.

As we emerge from the throngs of pandemic, we are all keenly aware of the continued challenges that still exist in high schools and community organizations, on college campuses and in our individual work environments. In the mission to “get back to normal” we’ve realized quickly that, in most cases, we’ve had toredefine normal. Working to reestablish connections and rebuild relationships has been and will continue to be a focus for our leadership and we are also looking for ways to re-engage our volunteers. The hands-on work is crucial for the success of the great programs and initiatives we’ve been able to offer  and we couldn’t do any of it without our volunteers.

Speaking of volunteers… please consider becoming a member (if you are not already one) and then joining a committee and/or stepping up for a leadership position. Your input and work is always welcomed and your voice is important. While there is fatigue amongst volunteers everywhere, I can assure you that you’ll be energized by the great work our colleagues are doing everyday. If you have any questions about volunteering please reach out. Members of the Executive Board as well as committee chairs welcome the opportunity to share their experiences and will surely help you find ways to serve in the association. I look forward to connecting with you throughout the coming year. There is still much work to be done in supporting colleagues, advocating for change, and working to diversify our membership in every area. Please share your thoughts and ideas with me; your voice is important and it will help to broaden our perspectives on the leadership level.

Best wishes for a restful and restorative summer!
