Welcome!

The New England Association for College Admission Counseling is the number one resource in New England for college admissions professionals. NEACAC fulfills its mission by developing and providing services, programs, and opportunities for members so they can serve and assist students in their transition from secondary to post-secondary education.

We aim to lead in shaping the college counseling, admission and enrollment profession by:

  • Developing ethical and social responsibility within the profession through the establishment and maintenance of high professional standards;
  • Supporting and encouraging collaborative relationships and providing professional development opportunities for all members;
  • Advocating for policies that impact the profession at the state, regional and national level; and
  • Fostering development of equal opportunities for, and access to, post secondary education for all students, utilizing the collective influence and knowledge of the members.

President's Message

Daisy

Hello and welcome to NEACAC!

I am filled with a sense of pride as I take on my role as President of NEACAC, in order to serve a community that has done so much for me during my time in admissions. I hope to take all of the lessons I have learned from all of you and put it into the work I will soon face.

While we, as a profession, face uncertain times, it is my greatest hope that we can rely on one another. It is my goal to continue to foster mentorship amongst those newer to the profession or who are just looking for more professional guidance. I aim to continue to advance the sense of inclusion and collaboration that NEACAC has worked so hard to create, not only for those in the membership but our students, as well.

I would like to continue by thanking those who will join me this year on the Executive Board:

  • Cortney Lima - Vice President
  • Sharonda Dailey Thompson - President-Elect
  • Cicily Shaw - Past President
  • Carlo Fierimonte - Secretary
  • Vanessa Montorsi - Treasurer
  • Katie Storer - Treasurer-Elect
  • Christina Doyle - Executive Director

I would also be remiss if I were not to share my gratitude with the incoming Governing Board, as well as Christina Beauchemin, our Executive Assistant. All of your dedication and willingness to serve is integral to the continued strength and growth of the organization.  I hope that in this next year we will be able to support one another in the work that we do and provide leadership to the entirety of the organization.

If you are interested in volunteer opportunities or the future of our profession, please contact any member of the governing board. We would love to share with you how taking part in NEACAC has impacted our work and led to meaningful connections within the profession. We hope to engage with all of you in meaningful ways that will help you to feel supported in all that you do. Our work is integral, especially now, and our students will look to us for answers in this shifting landscape. If there is anything that we, as an organization, can do to support you in this professional journey, do not hesitate to reach out.

My deepest gratitude,

Daisy Ogunedo

Frequently Asked Questions- College Search and Application Process

In 2021, for the Annual Meeting & Conference community service project, approximately 30 NEACAC members collaborate to create FAQ videos in English and Spanish that respond to common questions about the college search, admissions, and financial aid processes. These videos are now available on the NEACAC YouTube channel so that students, families, and counselors throughout the region may access important information on demand.
