SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

New England Association for College Admission Counseling Scholarship Program

Each year, the Annual Meeting & Conference Committee is allocated funds to help provide a number of scholarships for current members who would like to attend the conference but require financial assistance. This scholarship is open to all membership categories to apply for (secondary school counselors, CBO counselors, admissions professionals, etc). Those interested in consideration for this scholarship need to complete the scholarship form by Friday, April 14th. The committee will then review these applications and contact selected recipients by May 1st. If you have any questions, contact Diane Soboski, Conference Chair.

Margaret Addis Memorial Scholar Program

The Margaret Addis Memorial Scholar Program fund enables secondary school counselors from underrepresented areas to attend our Annual Meeting & Conference. "Underrepresented Areas" are defined as rural or urban secondary schools, EOP/TRIO programs and agencies and community/technical colleges in New England. To qualify, candidates should work in settings adversely impacted by budget cuts or limitations, and as such, cannot afford the cost of NEACAC membership or attendance to the Annual Meeting & Conference. It is a primary goal of NEACAC and the IDEA Committee to find ways of providing access to professional development opportunities and the Margaret Addis Memorial Scholarship assists in this effort. *The nomination period for this scholarship ended January 22, 2017. Recipients will be contacted shortly. If you have any questions, please contact Shamika Cameron, IDEA Committee.

Transfer Grant Scholarship

We are pleased to announce an exciting scholarship opportunity for counselors and those who work in enrollment services to attend the NEACAC Annual Meeting & Conference.  The “Transfer Grant Scholarship” offers full scholarships to attend the Annual Meeting & Conference at Keene State College.  Recipients will be chosen from Community Based Organizations, College Access Programs, High Schools, and Two-Year colleges across New England. Click here to access the application. The deadline to submit the application is April 26, 2017. Please contact Hadley Camilus with any questions.

NACAC Imagine Grant Pre-Conference Web-Shop Scholarship

The NEACAC Annual Meeting & Conference planning committee has been awarded $500 through the NACAC Imagine Grant to help fund counselors for a unique pre-conference offering. We are proud to present College Counseling Web-shop: Getting Hands-On with Coalition, Common App, CSS Profile, and FAFSA on Wednesday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (A full description can be found under Pre-Conference Sessions)

The committee will be granting scholarships to as many participants as we are able up to our maximum grant. Some participants may also receive Tuesday night housing at Keene State in additional to their registration fee for this pre-conference session. Professionals who work with a high percentage of low-income, first-generation, minority or other underserved populations will receive preference for this scholarship. Please direct questions to Pre-Conference Chair, Christina Berardi. Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis and recipients will be notified by May 1.* Apply Now.

*Applicants for this scholarship do not need to register for the pre-conference workshop in advance of scholarship notification.
