NEACAC’s Current Trends Committee invites all senior leaders in admissions/enrollment and college/school counseling offices to join us on Friday May 29th, from 2:00-4:00 pm, for this year's Enrollment Management Forum

Our topic this year will be  “Landscape and COVID-19: Inequity in College Admissions” featuring Dr. Michael Bastedo, Director of the University of Michigan’s Center for the Study of Higher and Postsecondary Education.

Dr. Bastedo's research on bias in college admissions provided the background that informed the College Board's Landscape tool. Dr. Bastedo will present on the genesis of Landscape, the problems it seeks to solve, what it measures well, and what it cannot measure as well. Special attention will be paid to how issues of inequality in equity and college access are magnified during COVID-19, and how the Landscape tool could help.

Following Dr. Bastedo’s presentation, participants will break out into groups by their affiliation: Secondary and Higher Ed. Groups of peers will interact together to identify key equity questions for “the other side of the desk” related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The groups will then come together and pose these questions, to be answered, in a moderated format.

Register here.  In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, NEACAC is waiving the fee for participation in the 2020 Enrollment Management Forum to allow all New England leaders the opportunity to participate in this important discussion.
