Advanced Counselor Roundtable
Wednesday, July 21, 2021, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM EDT
Category: Events

The Advanced Counselor Roundtable (ACR) is a newly redesigned professional development experience for secondary school colleagues with five or more years in the profession. ACR provides the opportunity for experienced professionals to connect with college counseling mentors and peers for one day of engaging and inclusive programming via Zoom.

Our day will begin with a roundtable discussion featuring deans and directors from Bowdoin College, Clark University, MIT, and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Moderated by NEACAC President Erik DeAngelis, our featured speakers will address recent trends in admission and projections for future practices. The sessions that follow will focus on timely topics and perennial favorites within the framework of diversity and equity in our profession. Topics will include developing one’s career trajectory, advancing knowledge in the areas of financial aid, mental health, and learning differences, and an actionable tools workshop designed to equip each participant with the skills and motivation to inspire change within their unique communities.

ACR will be held on virtually Wednesday, July 21, facilitated by 8-10 experienced public and independent school counselors. Please email questions to co-chairs Kathryn Dromey, Agawam High School, and Lauren Avalos, Gann Academy, ACR Co-Chairs.
